The Ford Bronco Sport is a Fun Take on the Compact SUV

The new Ford Bronco Sport is a compact SUV that brings cute styling and fun off-road performance to its vehicle class. Northern Michigan drivers also choose the Bronco Sport because it combines dependable all-wheel drive with solid fuel economy. Take a ride in the Bronco Sport today at Feeny Ford of Grayling.

Exterior

The small and boxy design of the Bronco Sport borrows heavily from its namesake, the mid-size Bronco. It has high roof rails, making it great for adventures off the beaten path. Likewise, many people love the Bronco Sport when they see its big and round headlamps. Ford also sells the Bronco Sport in trims, including retro, blackout, and pastel options. Especially if you were a fan of the 1970s and 1980s Bronco, you'd adore the modern Bronco Sport.

Interior

The new Ford Bronco Sport's interior features bucket seating and a two-row configuration that'll accommodate four or five people, depending on your trim selection. The top trim options offer leather upholstery, and heated front seats are also available. The dashboard aims to please younger buyers with a linear design that makes the digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen the whole show. You also get a spacious rear cargo area with 29 cubic feet of room.

Performance

Two engine choices are available for the Bronco Sport. Your first option is a 1.5-liter setup with 181 horsepower, 190 pound-feet of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. The fuel economy is an EPA-estimated 25 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. Alternatively, you can buy the Bronco Sport Badlands trim with a 2.0-liter engine that hits 250 horsepower, 277 pound-feet of torque, and 2,200 pounds of towing. The 2.0 also achieves an EPA-estimated 21 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.

Every Bronco Sport employs an all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Bronco Sport cuts a 37.4-foot turning circle and offers 7.8 inches of ground clearance in most trims. The Badlands has 8.6 inches of ground clearance. You also can buy the Bronco Sport with a maximum approach angle of 30 degrees, making it a solid off-road option.

Note that the Bronco Sport is less robust than its namesake, but remember that it is a heavily ruggedized SUV, even by off-road enthusiast standards. However, the Bronco Sport does include stocky 17-inch wheels and Ford's vaunted GOAT mode, which coordinates throttle, transmission, and brake performance to provide optimal traction. 18-inch aluminum wheels are optionally available.

Technology

The eight-inch infotainment screen provides access to Ford Sync's suite of apps, entertainment, and optional navigation. Ford includes tactile knobs and buttons for controls, and you also can take advantage of available voice activation for hands-free operation. The top audio option for the new Bronco Sport is a B&S system with ten speakers and a sub. Wireless device charging is available, too. Every Bronco Sport provides phone compatibility thanks to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety

Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ provides various safety systems for the Bronco Sport, including adaptive cruise control, emergency braking assistance, and pre-collision mitigation. A front-facing camera is available to offer a low view when navigating trails. You can also purchase the Bronco Sport with rear parking sensors.
